CEO’s Report
This year has been one of progress, investment and purpose for EPIC.
Across our organisation, we have continued to grow while staying focused on what has always mattered most to us – empowering people, strengthening communities and creating opportunities for people to live the lives they choose.
When I reflect on 2025/26, I feel incredibly proud of what our team has achieved. Over the year, EPIC supported more than 1,000 people across our parenting programs, disability services, Support Coordination, and Jobs and Skills Centre training and employment services. That number is significant, but for me, it is the individual stories behind it that matter most. Every person supported represents a family, a goal, a challenge overcome, or an opportunity created.
Building for the Future
Our Strategic Plan continues to guide our direction, with a strong focus on housing, workforce, partnerships and cultural leadership.
Housing remains one of the greatest challenges facing regional communities, and EPIC has continued investing in solutions across the Pilbara and Goldfields.
These investments are about far more than property. They create stability, independence and opportunity for the people we support, while also helping us attract and retain the workforce needed to deliver quality services in regional communities.
We have also continued investing in our facilities and infrastructure to ensure EPIC is well positioned for the future.
Strengthening Our Services
Throughout the year, EPIC continued delivering supported accommodation, individualised living options, respite, Support Coordination, employment services, parenting programs and community-based supports.
A significant milestone was the extension of our Pilbara Retreat respite service contract for a further three years, providing continuity for families who rely on this important service.
We have also continued strengthening our systems, governance and practices to respond to changing standards and ensure our services remain safe, responsive and centred around the individual.
Investing in Our People
Our people remain the heart of EPIC.
Regional service delivery is not always easy. Recruitment pressures, housing shortages, distance and increasingly complex service environments all create challenges.
Despite this, our staff continue to show up with compassion, commitment and resilience.
This year we continued investing in leadership, strengthening our organisational structure and building a culture of ownership, accountability and connection to purpose.
For me, culture is not something written in a policy or strategic plan. It is how we treat each other, how we respond when things become difficult and how connected our people feel to the work they do.
I am incredibly proud of the people who choose to work at EPIC and of the difference they make every day.
A Sustainable EPIC
Behind our service delivery, we have continued strengthening the systems that support the organisation.
We have improved financial processes, increased automation, reviewed structures and continued investing in housing, property, fleet and technology.
Our focus is on building an organisation that is strong and sustainable for the long term and one that can continue supporting regional communities for many years to come.
Staying True to Why We Began
EPIC was established in 2012 because we believed regional people deserved the same opportunities, choices and quality of support as people living anywhere else.
That belief has never changed.
As EPIC grows, one of the things that matters most to me is that we never lose sight of why we started.
Behind every program, funding agreement, property and strategic decision is a person. Someone wanting greater independence, a parent wanting the best future for their child, someone looking for work, or a family needing support.
Those individual stories are what give meaning to everything we do.
Looking Ahead
In the year ahead, EPIC will continue strengthening housing options, building our regional workforce, developing new partnerships and services, investing in our people and improving the systems that support quality service delivery.
We will also continue looking for opportunities to bring EPIC’s experience, values and regional approach to more communities across Western Australia.
Growth, however, will never be our purpose in itself.
Our measure of success will always be the difference we make in people’s lives and the strength of the communities we are privileged to be part of.
To our participants and families, thank you for continuing to place your trust in EPIC.
To our staff, thank you for the care, commitment and resilience you bring every day. EPIC would not be the organisation it is without you.
To our Board and community partners, thank you for your guidance, support and belief in EPIC’s future.
Fourteen years after EPIC began, I remain incredibly proud of what we have built together. Our organisation has grown, our services have evolved and the environment around us continues to change, but our purpose remains simple:
Empowering people. Strengthening communities. Creating opportunities.
