Our EPIC Culture

At EPIC, culture is more than how it feels to come to work. It shapes how our people support one another, how we respond to challenges and, ultimately, the quality of support we provide to the people and communities we serve.

This year, our organisation-wide Culture Survey gave us an opportunity to hear directly from our workforce and measure what is working well, while also identifying where we can continue to grow. The results reinforced something we are proud of: our people feel connected to EPIC and to the purpose behind their work.

Around 82% of responses were positive across leadership communication and support, while approximately 95% of employees reported a strong understanding of what is expected in their role. Training was considered effective by approximately 85% of employees, and 84% indicated they were likely to still be with EPIC in 12 months’ time.

Throughout the year, EPIC continued to invest in the employee experience through Pulse Meetings, Culture Club events, Lunch & Learn sessions, Rewards & Recognition initiatives, supervision and our first organisation-wide annual review cycle, which achieved 95% completion. Pulse Meetings in particular have helped staff stay informed about organisational priorities while creating another avenue for feedback and connection across regions.

Our Culture Survey confirmed that EPIC has a strong, supportive and values-aligned foundation. Our next chapter is about building on it — creating greater consistency across teams, strengthening development opportunities and making sure the experience of being part of EPIC continues to reflect the values we bring to our communities every day.

GOOD NEWS STORY: Celebrating Nine DAMA Journeys

Nine members of our Karratha team reached an important milestone this year after successfully progressing through the Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) pathway.

The team came together for a shared lunch to celebrate, giving each staff member the opportunity to reflect on their journey to EPIC, what the opportunity had meant to them and their commitment to continuing to provide quality support to participants.

Staff, managers and Board members heard the individual stories behind the program — a reminder that regional workforce initiatives are ultimately about

people, stability and belonging.

For EPIC, DAMA is not simply a recruitment strategy. It has helped us build a more consistent regional workforce while creating meaningful long-term opportunities for people who have become valued members of our EPIC community
